The 15 engagement drivers fall into two groups: intrensic and extrensic experiences/rewards. Scarlett Surveys refers to these two engagement driver groups as “Disenagers” and “Engagers”. Many organizations make the mistake of training their managers to neutralize the disenagers believing doing so will automaticly boost engagement. In reality, neutralization of disengagers just remove these drivers from becoming a source of emotional annoyance, work distraction or anger. They don’t boost engagement. So the most influential set of engagement drivers are the disengagers until neutralized, then the “engagers” become the most influential.

identifications of disengaged employees is first step and then mentoring him to be an fully engaged employee as basic requirement of job is an uphill task to be taken up jointly by behavior experts as well as shop floor manager as the conflict of disengagement is attributable to both employee and his immediate supervisor.
